EU Lawmakers Travel to Ukraine in "Show of Solidarity"

INTERNATIONAL: A delegation of lawmakers from the European Union parliament have visited the east of Ukraine on Monday ,January 31, in what they said was a show of solidarity in the face of the Russian military build-up at the border.

A cross-party group of nine lawmakers, led by the chairman of the foreign affairs committee David McAllister, were spending three days on a fact-finding mission meeting, among others, business people and politicians.

McAllister has said during a short media briefing at the port that they were there to show solidarity, solidarity with Ukraine and its citizens in thw hour of uncertainty .

He was joined by the chairman of the defence subcommittee Nathalie Loiseau who has said that combating disinformation was one of the aims of the mission.
